Wheee!
Well, there have been good things and bad things since my last update. I like to think that it's been mostly good but experience has shown that the difference between the two is mostly perception.
My semester is almost over (thank you, Lord) and I yet live. Sadly, my most recent Chemistry test may as well have been taken with the chimpanzee method (and if you have to ask, I'll tell you but there is a reason I didn't explain). To compound the issue I will have to spend much of the weekend and early next week doing tons of chemistry problems so that I will actually do well on my final and pass the course with a decent grade. All of this work has interfered with my attempts to geek out with my gaming. I've had to cancel one session for sanity, and extra prep-time, and then I had to cancel tonight's game for sanity and because there was no way I could RP anything remotely entertaining to my players. Also, my computer is still broken.
Gladly, all my other classes are going swimmingly, even the one I hate. I have downloaded my instant messengers to this new PC so that I can talk to my friends again, and I remembered my friend's birthday in time to deliver a gift (I hope you enjoy it). I'm also getting lots of good ideas for the advancement of my gaming ideas and may even start up a short term western game for myself and others (using house rule rather than the highly broken d20 Past). That would be a game set in the Old West, so that players get to be cowboys and indians and greenhorn easterners and whatever else, and follows a story I figure out and they help me tell, for all of you who aren't gaming types (as if any of my readers weren't). I have been able to help various peoples better understand stuff both in and out of school, so that's good. I've got a new player for my Friday games and I saw my semi-suicidal ex-player on IM two days ago, so I know that she is still alive. Also, the cat is going to get his Rabies shot tomorrow, so that's one less disease I'll have to worry about.
Now, to do some stuff for my games...
Edit: I saw Sin City. I intend to see it this weekend and possibly next week to celebrate survival of exams. This is because it is a good film. If you can enjoy films with violence and mild nudity mixed in with excellent lighting, camera, acting, scripting, and characterization work then you too would enjoy this film.
